Train ride day

Today, we rode the train to Scotland. We meant to upgrade to first class, but that didn't work out, so (god forbid) we settled for our original seats in economy. I got the full, truthful, and quite sad English experience: All over the coach, men were standing in groups becuase they had no seats. The problem was, on the train, you could buy beer. Lots. No limit, really. The result? Said men ended up getting wasted, hitting the back of our seats, actually passing out in the seats behind us. Good times! Oh well, the weather in Edinburgh is great!

Have you had the really great fun of a coach-class ride in an Italian train? How about drunks passing salami sticks around and breathing garlic-and-Peroni down your neck?
I cannot believe the image of Leenie in the third-class compartment of any train -- not since high school days anyway.

Mother, we didn't choose to go in that compartment, we were forced. Gag me with a spoon.
And give me Italian trains any day.

I have to agree with Leenie - Italians don't believe in getting drunk, except at football games. They don't believe in deodorant either, which was the real challenge.
